READING,PA-Albright College is nationally recognized for its ethnically diverse student body who build upon the Albright family and its warming campus community. Attending this institution gave me the opportunity to make life long connections with people from across the globe all striving for the same goal of earning a degree and kickstarting their career.
Over the course of my last two years in college, I produced a variety of reports documenting one of my fellow colleagues through a wide range of online mediums. This production was first introduced as a profile for a Magazine and Feature Writing course, but then shifted into a news broadcast format for my Digital Video course. It was then finalized as an hour and a half audio documentary produced for my Senior Seminar in Digital Communications. I believe creating these pieces placed my skills in writing for the mass media, capturing and editing audio and video, and graphic design to the forefront.
Jed Paolo immigrated from the Philippines to the United States when he was 5 years old. He guides the audience through the sights, smells, and sounds he recalls of his home and describes the long journey of gaining United States citizenship. The name of this piece is "Between Two Suns" which was inspired from a quote directly from Jed about how he views himself as a Filipino immigrant who never lost touch of his roots.
